Anne Sallow was a Slytherin student at Hogwarts before an unknown illness made it so horrible that she couldn't continue attending.
Biography[]
Anne, alongside her twin brother Sebastian, were born to two professors who instilled in their children a thirst for knowledge. However, while Anne and Sebastian were still quite young, they heard a crash from the cellar room where their parents often went to read over books. They ran down to investigate, only to find their parents dead from a defective lamp that caused the room to fill with an undetectable toxin. Their uncle, Solomon, then took the twins into his home at Feldcroft.
Hogwarts[]
When they were eleven, Anne and Sebastian started to attend Hogwarts, where both were sorted into Slytherin, and they soon became close friends with their fellow Slytherin, Ominis Gaunt. Due to Ominis' family being descendants of Salazar Slytherin, Ominis knew several secrets about the school and introduced the twins to what he called the Undercroft, a place that appeared to not be known by anyone else at their school. The trio made good use of this room, going here to play Gobstones and hang out.
Illness[]
Before their fourth year, an abandoned house in Feldcroft was being raided by Ranrok's Loyalists and explosions started to go off. Anne ran outside to try and help any possibly wounded but instead ran into the loyalists and Victor Rookwood. Rookwood, not wanting others to find out about his involvement with Ranrok, cursed Anne, noting that "children should be seen and not heard." This caused Anne and the rest to think only goblins were involved in the raid as well as cursing her so badly she suffered from constant pain to the point she had to stop attending school. Anne's family tried to check with everyone from Hogwarts' matron Noreen Blainey to St. Mungo's for help in curing her, but to no avail. Her uncle Solomon then decided to try and just make Anne as comfortable as possible given the circumstances while Sebastian took it upon himself to try and find help, believing the rest had given up on his sister. While Anne understood where Sebastian was coming from, deep down she felt there was no cure for her condition, but Sebastian refused to believe this, creating a point of contention between her brother and their uncle.
Later on, during an incident where Feldcroft came under attack by Ranrok's Loyalists, Anne held her own for awhile but the pain overcame her and one of the loyalists tried to attack her. Seeing the goblin running over to kill his sister, Sebastian cast the Imperius curse on the goblin and made it kill itself instead. Solomon, having seen all this transpire, became incensed and forbade Sebastian from seeing Anne and their home again, threatening to report Sebastian's use of an Unforgivable Curse to the Headmaster if he tried to get around his orders. Solomon then made plans for him and Anne to leave the area so Sebastian wouldn't be able to contact them.
Sebastian, still believing he could find a cure, eventually found a Dark Magic object, a Relic, in a nearby tomb, and secretly messaged Anne to meet him there with Ominis. However, when the two arrived, they discovered the Relic was creating inferi and tried to shield off the tomb so the inferi couldn't escape and harm the hamlet. Anne then noted she couldn't stay in the area anymore and went to get Solomon for assistance. Her uncle quickly headed off to the tomb to confront Sebastian with Anne following, returning just in time to see her brother murder Solomon with Avada Kedavra. Angry and upset over this, she hit her brother with depulso and destroyed the remaining inferi and Slytherin's Spellbook. She then tearfully told her twin he had chosen his path before she went over to their uncle's body and apparated out of the tomb with it. She later buried Solomon by herself back in Feldcroft.
While she was devastated over what Sebastian did, she was very conflicted in if he should face the consequences of his actions and be turned in or not.
