Bai Howin was the Beasts Professor at Hogwarts in the late 19th century in Hogwarts Legacy.
Biography[]
Bai attended Hogwarts, where she was sorted into Hufflepuff. During the summer before her seventh year, she learned of a wizard who'd been selling Occamy eggs and had gone missing in the mountains near her home. Having heard of occamy but never seen one, as they were native to places like India, a curious Bai headed out to see if she could find the elusive creature.
Despite her parents' annoyance at her absence, Bai found the wizard's remains after a few days, near a tree hollow that contained an occamy nest. Despite the eggs having monetary value, Bai left them alone as she appreciated all the other byproducts a living creature could provide, rather than ending a creature's life just for coin. She then hid to see if the mother would appear and, soon enough, the beautiful creature did before shrinking down to fit into the hollow. It was at that moment Bai knew she wanted to better understand all beasts to ensure everyone learned to benefit properly from them.
