Dorran was an elder centaur in Hogwarts Legacy.
Biography[]
Around 1890, Dorran was part of the Forbidden Forest centaur herd that was led by Elek. However, Elek didn't see eye to eye with Dorran, often accusing Dorran as being out of touch with his old ways. When Poppy and the new fifth-year Hogwarts student appeared in the forest to try and get the centaurs' help in finding and protecting the Golden Snidgets from being found by the poachers, Elek refused to listen and nearly had the students killed before Dorran stepped in. While Elek did as asked, he threatened to kill Dorran if Dorran got in his way again before leaving.
Dorran then chastised the students for being so reckless and ordered them to follow him so he could escort them safely out of the forest but stopped when Poppy quickly filled him in about the snidgets and that poachers were after them and the only clue they had was that it "lies in the moonlight." Realizing this might be related to a cryptic vision he saw many years ago, Dorran then told them to find a moonstone in a cave to the south and to take the moonstone to a henge in the forest. Dorran then went off to speak to his herd.
He was later found by Poppy and the student after they successfully found the moonstone and showed him a pattern that mooncalves had drawn on the ground at the henge. Dorran immediately recognized it as a symbol he only saw in one place, a location near Brocburrow, and directed the students to meet him there. Once they did, they used the moonstone to unlock the way into the ruins where the snidgets were. Knowing his herd would want to see this for themselves, especially Elek, he told the students to go ahead while he fetched Elek and would join them later.
After he summoned Elek, the two went into the ruins just in time to find the students in the middle of a fight with poachers and Dorran and Elek assisted the two students in dispatching of the enemies. After it was over, Dorran made sure the students were ok while Elek noted he was glad to have witnessed what transpired and now believed all that Dorran had told him. He then urged for Dorran to continue on, as not all of his vision had come to pass yet.
With that, Dorran then went with the students into the inner chamber where the snidgets' nest was, protected over by a charm. After the charm was broken and the eggs hatched, Poppy questioned how would they be raised and protected. Dorran informed her not to worry as he and the rest of the centaurs would look after and protect them.
