Follow the Butterflies is a side quest in Hogwarts Legacy. It becomes available after overhearing Clementine Willardsey talking in the The Three Broomsticks.

"I overheard Clementine Willardsey talking to herself in the Three Broomsticks. She mentioned something about a swarm of butterflies."
- Talk to Clementine Willardsey
"Miss Willardsey mentioned that the butterflies are just across the bridge inside of the Forbidden Forest. I should search there."
- Find the butterflies in the Forbidden Forest
"Miss Willardsey's information was accurate. I encountered the butterflies just inside the Forbidden Forest. Now to follow them deeper."
- Find out where the butterflies are going
"The butterflies revealed a treasure chest to me. I retrieved the treasure and now need to update Miss Willardsey."
- Return to Miss Willardsey
Conclusion[]
"I was able to find and follow the butterflies Clementine Willardsey mentioned seeing just inside the Forbidden Forest. They led me to a chest with a reward inside. I told Miss Willardsey and she was thrilled for me. I wonder if there are more of these somewhere."

- The butterflies can be hard to spot if they get too far ahead, but their current location is clearly shown on the Minimap.
- The treasure revealed by the butterflies contains a random spellcraft from the Exploration section. This is in addition to the spellcraft received as a quest reward.
- More butterflies can be found outside of this quest, and followed to chests containing random spellcrafts.
