Mary Portman was an Aranshire inhabitant in Hogwarts Legacy.
Biography[]
In the late 19th century, Mary was looking to find a way to become wealthy and settled on breeding spiders, as she could sell the valuable venom as well as the silk they created. She originally had some difficulties finding a suitable location until she realized it was literally right under her nose, as she had a huge cavernous cellar. She began to breed them in large amounts and was selling off the venom to at least one mysterious buyer, but she then lost control of the colony as they broke out from the cellar. She was summarily wrapped up in their webbing and killed while the rest of the hamlet was overrun, causing the rest of the hamlet to flee or risk being killed by the spiders.
