Natsai Onai, also known as Natty, is a fifth-year Gryffindor student in Hogwarts Legacy.
Description[]
Wise, quick-witted, and possessed of a need to seek justice, Natsai grew up in Matabeleland, Africa where she attended Uagadou - the largest wizarding school in the world. She transferred to Hogwarts when her mother became the school's Divination professor and is adapting to her new life in Scotland.
Biography[]
Natsai was born and raised in Uganda and attended Uagadou, the largest wizarding school in the world and where magic was done without wands. When she was nine, she and her father went on a run, with her riding on the back of her father's animagus giraffe form. However, some bandits came across them and, not realizing the giraffe was a wizard, only saw Natsai and aimed to shoot her so she couldn't tell her village she saw them. Seeing this, her father moved his neck to shield his daughter, taking a mortal hit in the process. As he died, he transformed back into his human form, scaring away the bandits but leaving Natsai feeling helpless and unable to save him. For years afterwards she blamed herself for his death and some days was ridden with guilt at being powerless, believing if she had been powerful enough then, her father wouldn't have had to die.
Before her fourth year, her mother accepted a position as Hogwarts' Divination professor. Natsai then transferred to Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor. While it took some time to adapt, she learned to also do magic with a wand and, though she found wandless magic more instinctive and more convenient, did admire the dramatic flourish a wand allowed.
