Poppy Sweeting

Poppy Sweeting is a fifth-year Hufflepuff student in Hogwarts Legacy.

Description[]

Poppy is a bright and compassionate girl with extensive knowledge of and a deep love of creatures. In fact, she believes creatures have far more redeeming qualities than most people and has a particular aversion to poachers and those who work with them.

Biography[]

Poppy's parents were poachers and raised Poppy in poacher camps. However, seeing what the poachers did to beasts, this only instilled in a young Poppy that beasts had far more redeeming values than people and eventually found herself at odds with her parents, especially as Poppy could sense the older she got, the more she didn't fit in with the poachers.

This came to a head when she was about ten years old and decided she'd had enough and decided to leave and go live with her grandmother, who'd been insisting for years to Poppy's parents to just let Poppy come live with her. That night, Poppy overheard the poachers deciding to kill a hippogriff they'd caught as it'd be worth more to them than alive, so Poppy rescued the hippogriff, Highwing, and they escaped together. As they flew, they stopped to watch mooncalves dancing, a rare sight and one which Poppy saw as a good omen.

When she started attending Hogwarts, she was sorted into Hufflepuff and excelled at Beasts class.

If playing as a Hufflepuff student, Poppy will be the one to announce that Matilda Weasley is waiting for you outside the common room on the first day of Hogwarts.
