Venomous Revenge is a side quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Ackley is by the stairs behind the Three Broomsticks.

The cellar Ackley Barnes spoke of should be just down the street from the Three Broomsticks.

Alternative Solution[]
In your 1st conversation with Mr Barnes, choose the options "I'm not comfortable with this." and "I'll find another way."; you'll be allowed to give him any Venomous Tentacula from your inventory and will immediately complete the Quest afterwards with the same rewards (300 
for choosing "Happy to be rid of it." or 500 for choosing "I'd like to be paid."), with him being none the wiser. Lawley's Cellar will be lootable after the Quest is over; it's northwest of the Three Broomsticks, across the street from Zonko's.

After meeting a man named Ackley Barnes outside the Three Broomsticks, I learned that he wanted to sabotage his ex-business partner, Alfred Lawley, by stealing his Venomous Tentacula. He asked if I would do it for him. I sneaked into Lawley's cellar and retrieved the Venomous Tentacula and gave it to him for the compensation promised.

This task proved to be more difficult than I thought, so I asked Mr Barnes to compensate me extra for my efforts.
After meeting a man named Ackley Barnes outside the Three Broomsticks, I learned that he wanted to sabotage his ex-business partner, Alfred Lawley, by stealing his Venomous Tentacula. He asked if I would do it for him. I didn't want to steal from a Hogsmeade resident, however, so I found a Venomous Tentacula elsewhere and gave that to him instead. He was perfectly happy with it and gave me the reward he had promised in return.
Notes[]
- Use Disillusionment so Alfred doesn't see you. However, if you gave Mr. Barnes 1 of your own Venomous Tentacula, then Alfred will not in the cellar at all. Good for you.
- Around the left corner is a pile of coins you may or may not be able to grab because of a glitch.
- The wall in front of you has a large gap you can walk through; wander through there and go left to find another pile of coins and a chest.
- If Alfred is in that area and on the right, use Alohomora on the nearby door and wait him out; he won't go beyond those first 2 rooms.
- The next room will have you be ambushed by 3 waves of Thornback Scurriours, 2 each.
- This room has a total of 3 Chinese Chomping Cabbages, 3 Horklumps, 1 Knotgrass, 2 Mandrakes, and a bag.
- Go up the stairs on the left to find the Venomous Tentacula, along with 2 sprigs of Dittany, one of which may or may not also be glitched and difficult or impossible to collect.
